Tune In Tonight: Hall-Harper’s “Unbought and Unbossed” Forum

GREENWOOD DIST. – August 22, 2024 - Tulsa District 1 City Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper invites the community to join her for the “Unbought and Unbossed Virtual Re-Election Forum” tonight at 6:00 PM CT, hosted live on The Black Wall Street Times' social media platforms: Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

Throughout her tenure, Hall-Harper has championed the legacy and preservation of the historic Greenwood District, also known as Black Wall Street, while tirelessly working to address food deserts and combat systemic racism. Her dedication to her community is evident in her many achievements, including the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Resolution and the Beyond Apology initiative, both of which address historical and systemic injustices.

In addition to these significant accomplishments, Hall-Harper founded the city's Greater Tulsa African American Affairs Commission, underscoring her commitment to creating platforms that elevate Black voices and issues in Tulsa. Her focus on economic development is exemplified by her work in opening the Oasis Fresh Market, providing much-needed access to fresh produce in underserved areas of Tulsa.

Vanessa Hall-Harper is also a co-founder of the annual Tulsa Juneteenth festival and the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce, initiatives that continue to celebrate and empower the community. Alongside these efforts, she has launched tangible community empowerment programs, such as expungement expos, which provide crucial support to individuals seeking to clear their records and rebuild their lives.
