This video is to bring you a closer look at the Pemko S3W. This is the replacement neoprene that you are going to see on their 297 and 303 series material, pardon me, I said neoprene, but this is silicone. This is a replacement silicone product that is used in their 297 and 303 series material. The "S" stands for silicone and the "3" is the profile type for the 297 and 303 products and the "W" means white. If you have a Pemko 297 or 303 and you need to replace the material, this is possibly what you need. White, would come of course the painted white extrusion, it is typical the only time you would see white from the factory as original. 297 material is also available in neoprene and vinyl as well. This is the silcone which is much higher performing material. I have had people who have called me up and said their door on a western exposure in California just takes the sunlight all day and their vinyl material actually starts to stick to the face of the door. The paint heats up so much that it sticks and replaced it with the silicone material which is better performing in extremes of temperature and does not fatigue like vinyl will with exposure to ultraviolent. So they have had real good success doing that and just as it fatigues and wears out a consumable type of material is what the seal is. So I said Pemko makes the material available so that you can continue to get useful service out of your significant investment in weather stripping. Lets check our tape measure here as best as we can. You can see that it is about 5/16" thick and overall height of about 9/16". You will know that it is a 297 or 303 because that spearheads slides into the extrusion and this flap rests underneath the extrusion between the back of the weatherstripping and the jamb is where that goes. Real good protection there as your door might have lets say an inswing door which would be typical, water intrusion from behind the extrusion of the aluminum in a jamb is why that flap is meant to be there, plus sometimes on aluminum you tighten down the screws so much that the weather stripping will bow a little bit between those screw points and this will help combat that as well. Also available obviously in grey and black for your mill aluminum finish and gold and dark bronze, etc. If you have any questions on the Pemko S3W Silicone replacement white weather-strip or any other Pemko product, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you.
