The Barbie doll is an enduring icon - slim, blond and fashionable she has been an avid follower - and setter - of fashion since 1959, when she was first launched.
Barbie is said to appeal to all ages, but little girls particularly are enchanted by the never-ending range of dolls and accessories.
Now the world's first Barbie store has opened in Argentina, devoted to everything pink. But don't expect to buy a Barbie doll there.
