What is Slender: The Eight Pages?
Slender: The Eight Pages, formerly known as simply Slender is a free-download first person indie horror game created by Parsec Productions  where your only goal is to find 8 manuscripts (pages) about the Slender Man, a paranormal creature. 
The more directly you come in contact with the Slender Man, the faster your sanity drains. The original beta was released in June 2012 for Microsoft Windows and OS X, utilizing the Unity engine. 

Slender: The Eight Pages, is not related to the Slenderman's Shadow series of games.  Slenderman's Shadow series, is based off of the original and currently has 7 maps; Sanatorium, Hospice, Elementary, Mansion, Claustrophobia, 7th Street, and Prison (Currently Slender Prison is the most challenging Slender game including the original.) Slenderman's Shadow, are remaking all their maps in the Unity engine and will be releasing their newest map Carnival sometime in December.
