Recommended Picks for new players based on role:

Tank: Johanna, Muradin, Mei
Healer: Uther, Anduin, Lili
Bruiser: Leoric, Dehaka, Sonya
Burst Damage: Jaina, Kael'thas, Li-Ming
Sustain Damage: Raynor, Zul'jin, Valla
**I would avoid everything in the Melee Assassin and Support category as a new player, you can cover everything you need to cover without worrying about these 2 categories.
