Bayeux. Why wasn't it destroyed in WWII?

Bayeux is one of the few major towns in Normandy not to have been destroyed in the battle of Normandy after D-day. There are several stories to explain this. There are places you've probably visited withour realising the history connected with the place. You'll be surprised to find a concrete bunker hidden in Bayeux.
