RoboCop Versus The Terminator is a side scrolling shoot em up where you control as Robocop as he tries to fend off an invasion of Terminators into his universe. The story is loosely based off a comic book of the same name, unfortunately there was no movie, despite numerous rumours at the time. It was released for the Mega Drive / Genesis, SNES, Game boy, Game Gear and Sega Master System in 1993-1994.

The Master System version plays like a scaled down version of the 16 bit Mega Drive version with a lot of the same levels, bosses and secrets appearing in this build. It retains some solid game play with Robocop easily able to fire in all directions as well as being able to pick up a number of powers ups such as a stronger two handed gun to compliment his side arms. It plays very well and looks rather impressive for a 8-bit Master System game with some well drawn sprites, despite some flickering and slowdown in places.

The game also features a lot of fan service. With Robocop eventually fighting the likes of ED-209, Robocop 2 and of course Arnold's T-800 as well as a bunch of new Terminator models. It's a great use of the two franchises, although I would have liked an option to play as a friendly T-800 as well.

This is probably my favourite shooter on the Master System and was well worth the £7.49 that I paid for it back in 1995.
