Sky News host Caleb Bond says there was a large cohort of Australians “left aghast” after learning former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews has received a Companion of the Order of Australia.

Former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews and former Western Australian premier Mark McGowan have been awarded the nation’s highest honour in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours.

“Seriously? This is the premier who presided over the diabolical hotel quarantine system,” Mr Bond said.

“And a lockdown that lasted 111 days amongst all the other days that he had locked down.”
