Day 6 (Part 1 of 2) of my 15-day holiday journey through 5 countries!

Introducing Lapland, and this is Rovaniemi in Finland.
Was expecting a colder temperature, but it’s just around 1°C … with snow. It’s indeed a different world up here, the climate is so extreme and the weather changes so quickly. The air is dry, the day is so short and stuffs are just so much more expensive. However, not as extreme as last year’s -29°C in Kiruna, Sweden.

I have to endure dragging luggage around as transport on Christmas Day is just not working. According to the tour guide, Uber rides are cheaper than taxi rides, but yeah. Still expensive for me.

Stayed in a place called “Aria Bed & Breakfast”, you would at least expect breakfast served, whether hot or cold, but they said “no breakfast”, so I was a bit pissed. I paid a whopping £467 for 3 nights. (well, that’s the cheapest I can find).

My Finnair flight (booked from British Airways) is paid for using Avios points. Finnair and British Airways are under the oneworld alliance.
