Govee RBG IC H6130 LED strip lights - can be cut and soldered (this is not a how-to video)

Описание к видео Govee RBG IC H6130 LED strip lights - can be cut and soldered (this is not a how-to video)

In this short video I just wanted to show it is possible to cut apart and solder back together the H6130 Govee RGBIC lights. This is not recommended by Govee. (If you are interested in a how-to solder video please watch this video:

Good luck!

I used 60/40 solder with rosin core, and soldering iron was set to 350C. I used magnification to help see the small connections. If you don't know how to solder, make sure you tin the soldering iron. I placed solder on the ends of each wire first, then placed little blobs of solder on each copper LED strip lead. Then I applied just enough heat to push the wire into the blob of solder. Make sure the 3 wires are separated from each other and do not bridge the gap between each other (this will short out the strip). After soldering I applied shrink wrap to protect the joint (as you can see in the video).

CAUTION: One thing to note: if too much heat is applied to the end of the cut strip you run the risk of damaging the last LED chip next to where you cut. To help prevent this only apply enough heat to place a blob of solder on the 3 brass leads. Another tip: place a heat sink (a heavy piece of metal) next to the end of the LED strip where you cut and plan to place heat on to solder. This will absorb heat before it can raise the temperature of the LED.
