What is the Presiding Bishop?

As the Episcopal Church begins to gather for its next General Convention, we at Saint Mary's will be taking a look at what is coming up and how we might offer our prayers. This year, the Episcopal Church will be electing a new Presiding Bishop. The Most Rev. Michael Curry has become a much beloved figure in our church and many are sad to see his nine-year tenure come to an end. He also leaves big shoes to fill. This leads us to ask "what is the Presiding Bishop?" Join Father Charles as he walks us through the history of the office known commonly as "the PB" and where it stands now—while also taking a look at what the next person to assume this mantle will face.
