I set out to shoot the Orion Nebula with only a tripod, a camera, and a 35mm lens. I was vacationing on the Big Island of Hawaii and I wanted to take advantage of their dark skies without packing any heavy gear. I was amazed at what you can photograph in the night sky without a sky tracker or a telescope.
