Описание к видео Anthem of the Empire of Mexico

This anthem first started being used in Mexico in 1854. The lyrics of the national anthem was composed by poet Francisco González Bocanegra after a Federal contest in 1853. Later in 1854 he asked, Jaime Nunó to compose the music which now accompanies González's poem. During the Mexican-French war the republican lyrics of the anthem was banned under the lead of Emperor Maximillian I but the Melody was still used during Imperial ceramonies. the anthem today is now the official anthem of Mexico sinc the late 1940s
