How to Use Orthodox Vigil Lamp - Beeswax Wicks and Cork Floats

Step 1: Bend the small handle up so the float can be grasped.
Step 2: Ensure the metal pins are close together. Bend them together if they are not.
Step 3: Insert the wick from the top.
Step 4: Fill your votive glass half full with water, half full with oil.
Step 5: Place the float in the glass.
Step 6: Light the wick using a candle or a lighter.

SAFETY TIPS:
Never leave burning vigil lamps unattended
The glass will become hot with use. Handle with care.

BONUS TIPS:
Extra virgin olive oil burns the cleanest, but any vegetable oil should work.
Refill the oil in your vigil lamp when one-quarter to one-third of the oil is used up. This will prevent the glass from overheating and causing unpleasant odors.
