It was my first temazcal in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico. The vapor was making me feel claustrophobic. I hunched over and hid my face between my legs in a fetal position when I realised I was hugging myself. "I love you Ale," my inner voice whispered to my being. This I had never said before. I said it as if I was saying it to my mother, my child, my partner, with a depth of sincerity. Seeing myself for the first time as a human being, a woman who has been through her hell and back. A woman who has held on strong through ups and downs. A woman that I love, respect, honor and cherish. Tears of joy kissed my cheeks. The vapor didn't matter anymore, I had awakened into the reality of my spirit and physical being, recognizing her for all that she is. And this is why I dedicate this song to my beloved Mexico. She has gifted me this experience and I am infinitely grateful!

Era mi primer temazcal en Palenque, Chiapas. El vapor me estaba causando claustrofobia. Me agache, escondiendo mi cara entre mis piernas en una posicion fetal cuando me di cuenta que me estaba abrazando a mi misma. "Te amo Ale," mi voz interior murmuro a mi ser. Esto jamas habia dicho. Lo dije como lo hubiera dicho a mi madre, mi hij@, mi pareja con profundo sinceridad. Viendome a mi misma para la primera vez como otro ser humano, una mujer quien ha ido a su propio infierno y regresado. Una mujer quien ha sido fuerte por los altos y los bajos. Una mujer quien amo, respeto, honro y aprecio. Lagrimas de alegria me besaron los cachetes. El vapor ya no me importaba, sino habia despertado a la realidad de mi espiritu y ser fisico, reconociendolos por todo quienes son. Y por eso dedico esta cancion a mi querido Mexico. Me regaló esta experiencia y soy agradecida infinitamente.
