ABERDEEN in Hong Kong: Home of the Floating Village (4K)

Описание к видео ABERDEEN in Hong Kong: Home of the Floating Village (4K)

Hello Walkies! Welcome to another video. In today's video, lets explore the small but historically rich town of Aberdeen. Aberdeen is a small district located in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, situated between the areas of Ap Lei Chau and Wong Chuk Hang. Aberdeen is renowned for its traditional fishing village, which has existed for centuries. The village is home to a community of Tanka people, who are known for their unique way of life centered around fishing and living on boats. Visitors can still witness this traditional way of life by taking a boat tour or visiting the floating seafood restaurants. In this video, I will walk you through the beautiful Aberdeen promenade, through the seafood market and a glimpse of the floating village. Then we across the other side towards the residential area where I take you through the Aberdeen Square, some key streets in the town and a Tin Hau Temple. Towns like Aberdeen are often overlooked by tourists and even residents but in my opinion, these towns offer genuine representation of Hong Kong's cultural past and deserves to be showcased more.
