I Made Fernando Alonso A Formula 1 World Champion Again

In 2006, a young driver by the name Fernando Alonso had just claimed his 2nd world title in a row, in which he had to beat a prime Kimi Räikkönen and Michael Schumacher to take - all at the age of only 25. But little did he know, an expected 3rd world title would never come.

A string of bad career moves, along with some pretty poor cars and even worse luck meant that after 2006, Alonso could never connect the dots and get his hands on that elusive 3rd Drivers World Championship that he wanted so badly.

But in 2023 that all could have changed. After FINALLY making a good career move to Aston Martin, he was given a car capable of taking podiums and maybe even a race win, and after the first 8 races of the season he sat only 51 points behind Max Verstappen in the drivers standings. But after some poor upgrade packages by the Aston Martin team, the car performance slipped away and by the time he scored his next podium 5 races later, the gap was all too much to overcome.

Now the season is over, I'm sure you've all wondered this - if Aston Martin gave Alonso's car the correct upgrades, could he really have challenged Red Bull and Verstappen for the title? Well in today's video, it's time to find out!
