INGREDIENTS:
Gooseberry/Amla(आंवला) - 1 Kg
Water(पानी) - As required
Alum(फिटकिरी) - 1 Piece
sugar - 1 Kg(2cup)
Cardamom(इलायची) - 3-4 Pieces( Optional)
RECIPE:
Wash some Gooseberries and wipe them with a dry cloth. Then prick them with the fork. In a pan, put water and keep it for boiling. Then put some Alum pieces and, pricked Gooseberries/Amla in it. Turn the flame off and cover it with a lid and keep it for 1 hour. After then take out the Gooseberries/Amla from the pan and wipe them with tissue paper or dry cloth. Keep the Gooseberries/Amla for drying in sunlight for 1-1.5 hours. In a bowl, put pricked & dried Gooseberries/Amla, sugar and keep it for 1-1.5 hours. When the Gooseberries/Amla & sugar released their water then put them in a pan for heating. Stir it continuously and cook them on a medium flame for 1 hour. When the Amla color has changed & Syrup turned thicker then put the flame off and take it out in a bowl. Keep it in an air-tight jar for a long time use. In this way, Juicy Amla Murabba will get ready to serve.
Tip:
Don't make the Murabba in an Aluminum or Iron kadhai/pan.
Do not store the Murabba in a steel container.
