On social media it is easy to make any auto detailing job, paint correction, or ceramic coating look perfect! Here I want to show you as a professional auto detailer the stuff that no one else sees because frankly... this is the REAL WORLD of detailing!

We start this video talking about this Kia Soul that got a full auto detailing wash, strip, and prep before a simple paint correction and graphene ceramic coating. A vehicle like this that is kept outside, white paint, and not detailed regularly will inevitably have some damage on the exterior, but what we often don't talk about as professional auto detailers on social media is the damage like this that is on every car! The first piece of damage we point out here after the ceramic coating has been applied is missing paint. This comes in the form of big obvious missing paint pieces as well as tiny rock chips that line the front of the vehicle.

Next there are obvious places where the vehicle has been rubbed up against something else, and even has dings from hitting other things. These pieces of damage are easy to cover up in the camera, but MUST BE TALKED ABOUT with the customer... why? Because after the paint correction is done, and the ceramic coating is applied, all of the underlying damage is in some ways even more obvious than before... as it is sitting against a beautiful ceramic coated surface.

Lastly we talk about something I call freckling. This is how I describe the phenomenon of rock chips that are so numerous and so tiny that things like the windshield and front bumper look as if they are still dirty when they are in fact clean. This particular type of damage is one of the most common types of damage you will find on any vehicle that is driven on a regular basis, and is something that I ALWAYS bring up with customers simply because it becomes prominent when the vehicle has underwent paint correction and ceramic coating application.
