Train Cab Ride NL / Utrecht - Deventer - Amsterdam / ICM Intercity / Jan 2020

Hi everyone! We're in the middle of the corona crisis. But in stead of a new video during the crisis I'd like to take you back to better times in this video. It's been waiting on my computer for a while because the video is party covered with music on the second part of the trip. This is done because of a track learning driver in the cabin. But I'd really like to show you the beautiful ride so here it is.

Utrecht - Deventer:
We start our journey in Utrecht. At this station the train arrived from the direction Gouda with a few minutes delay. Before we may depart another train must cross our path which is why our delay is still 6 minutes at departure. Because we had to wait I had the opportunity to hang the camera to the window. Normally you don't have time for this with delays.

Right after departure we keep the train on full speed as much as possible. Between Bilthoven and Den Dolder the sprinter to Amersfoort and Harderwijk is waiting for us to pass by so our delay won't grow bigger than it already is.

On our way to Amersfoort you can enjoy the stunning view of a sunrise on that cold morning. I really can't get enough of this at my job. Gotta love it! After departure in Amersfoort Centraal we will get stuck behind the stop train to Barneveld and Ede-Wageningen. This is another company that also has the right to drive its trains on time so in this case we will not go first. Too bad because our delay will grow unto 8 minutes on passing Barneveld. From that moment on we have no trains ahead of us and we are able to maintain full speed.

On our way to Apeldoorn you can see the land is frozen over night. It's a really nice view and gave me a feeling of winter for the first time this winter. Most winter days in The Netherlands have been warmer than normal, so views like this are becoming very rear. With a four minute delay we arrive halfway in the video in Deventer.

Deventer - Amsterdam:
After having a break in Deventer we take another Intercity back from Deventer to Amsterdam. The first part of the journey will just be the way back to Amersfoort via Apeldoorn. But from there we don't head towards Utrecht, but to Amsterdam.

Unfortunately another driver joined me in the cabin in Apeldoorn for some track learning between Apeldoorn and Hilversum. For his privacy I muted the video and put a nice piece of music under it between Apeldoorn and Hilversum. As soon as we arrive in Hilversum the normal train sounds will turn back. Totally understand if you skip that part of the journey, but maybe it can be relaxing in this time as well! :)

The ride to Amsterdam will be run according to normal schedule. No delays on that ride. I hope you will enjoy the view of people on the platforms, the sunrise and the stunning view of ice on the landscapes in The Netherlands.
