UMPQUA VALLEY BLUEGRASS BAND performed at the Ninth Eagleview Bluegrass Family Reunion near Sutherlin, OR. on August 28-30, 2015. Supported by the Oregon Bluegrass Assn., the event (produced by Joe Ross) featured ten bands presenting bluegrass and beyond along the main Umpqua River.

UMPQUA VALLEY BLUEGRASS BAND is a 5-piece traditional band that keeps their music rustic, rawboned & true to roots. From Douglas County, Or., they present a variety from slow to fast, secular to sacred, & instrumentals to vocals. Band members are Liz Crain (fiddle), Gene Hodson (bass), Mac Parker (banjo), Joe Ross (mandolin) and Francis Stephenson (guitar). The members, who also sing, have played music for decades. The band formed in 2010 when they saw an ad for “Bluegrass Band Needed for Pig Roast BBQ.” They now play festivals, fairs, pubs, restaurants, weddings, farmer’s markets & other special occasions throughout Oregon.
