Hello Friends it's Kyle, 887 Media's SEO Manager, and I am back this week for another 887 Media SEO Did You Know, let's get started.

So this week I want to take a little different approach and talk a little bit about Local SEO and not the over encompassing SEO but localize it for a little bit. And I wanna talk a little bit about the top 3 ranking factors for Local SEO specifically for regrading the Google My Business and the Local 3-pack that shows up in the Google search engines. So when we think about when we do searches whether you are looking for gift stores or restaurants to eat at and what not locally in your location, there is ranking factors that Google takes into consideration when you search for those certain things so the Top 3 are: Reviews - how many reviews does that business have? What are people saying about this company, good or bad and how is the company responding to those reviews? The second one of course is a somewhat no-brainier the proximity to the searcher. Where are these businesses located to your current location? And the third ranking factor is the proper categories setup on the companies my business listing. If they are a restaurant does it have restaurant? What kind of restaurant? They don't necessarily want to put they sell burgers if they sell shoes. they want to make sure that the categories are set properly that they represent themselves correctly. And then aside from the the Google my business listing they want to make sure that their NAP (Name, Address, Phone) are consistent across the entire internet; on Google, on their website, any industry related directories, yelp, that needs to be consistent because Google takes into consideration that as well. They want people to have the best usability in find your information.
