Waldeyer’s Ring
→ Composed of collection of lymphoid tissue.
→ Provide local/ systemic immunity in children.
→ Gets atrophied in the later stage.
→ 1st line of defence.
Waldeyer’s Ring-Contents
Adenoids
→ Located in Nasopharynx.
→ Also known as Luschka’s tonsils/ Nasopharyngeal tonsils.
Tubal Tonsils
→ Located behind Eustachian tube.
→ Also known as Gerlach’s tonsils
Palatine Tonsils
→ Located in Oropharynx.
→ Also known as Faucial tonsils
Lingual Tonsils
→ Located in the base of the tongue.
