The Backside Quadruple Cork 2160 Indy Grab was an incredible feat landed by Japanese rider Hiroto Ogiwara in 2022 at the age of 16. This was done at an action-sports event known as The Nines in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.

Trick Breakdown:
1) Backside Cork 540
2) Cab Cork 540
3) Backside Cork 540 (again)
4) Cab Cork 540 (again)

Or

1) Backside Double Cork 1080
2) Backside Double Cork 1080 (again)

You’re probably wondering how this is even possible. Snowboarding has reached a trend today where athletes can train year round at training facilities known as “dry slope”. There are dry slope facilities that have jumps of all sizes ranged from small to big air size with an airbag landing. The measurements simulate the entire structure of a step down jump. The benefit of these facilities is that riders can progress rather quickly in a more safer and controlled environment. The rider can dial muscle memory in order to land safely or even bail safely when attempting these tricks for real. Japanese riders have the benefit of having these facilities to train year round. Japan has the infrastructure to support such facilities. America for instance does not have these facilities open for the public. If they exist in America, they would most likely be private facilities. So for someone to want to train with these, they would have to travel to places like Japan. Nonetheless, attempting something like this with airbag training or none is extremely dangerous. I believe the use of an airbag for training does not take away from the rider, however some core snowboarders don’t believe airbags or dry slope should exist.
