Joe Ross has established himself in the American jazz top. He was voted best vibraphone player of the year in the Downbeat Critics Poll, above his mentor Stefan Harris. Shortly before that, he released his third album on Blue Note, The Parable of the Poet. An ambitious project, with richly orchestrated jazz, remarkable timbres, and free rhythms packed in a seven-part suite. Now he will present music from the album live, with a seven-piece ensemble including trumpeter Marquis Hill, who performed at our venue last year.

Joes Ross made name at a young age in the Chicago jazz scene, and he currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. In recent years he played with an impressive number of bands. With big names such as Joshua Redman and Wynton Marsalis, but also with promising artists such as Marquis Hill and Makaya McCraven. On his own albums he reveals his qualities as a sophisticated composer and band leader, whether he deals with atmospheric sounds, or grooves inspired by dance and hip-hop.
