Sometimes you can score bonus plants at the nursery by looking for extras in the pot! Recently I found some Muhlenbergia capillaris (Pink Muhly Grass) that had three very distinct plants ready to be divided. Nurseries do this to make a larger sized pot fill out faster but you can capitalize on this to make more plants for your garden.
