Gantry crane as a variation of overhead crane are commonly used when lifting is required but no building facility or support structure such as steel work is available. Gantry cranes can be used indoors or outdoors. They are widely used for various types of loads handling in steel stock yards, pre-cast segment yards, construction sites, and other outdoor settings.

One or two beams are supported by steel supporting legs, and on each beam is a trolley that can be moved horizontally and lifted load vertically. The entire gantry steel structure resembles the shape of a large gate, which makes the giant crane a Gantry Crane or Goliath Crane.


Double girder gantry crane can be designed with box girder gantry and truss girder gantry design, for loading, unloading and hoisting various loads in workshops, warehouses and stock yards of general enterprises and factories.
