Let's show you how to empty the trash on your MacBook laptop or Mac Desktop!

In this video, I walk you through the steps to empty the trash folder on your MacBook or Mac Desktop. The first method is to go down to the far right of your screen and click on the Trash icon. Click on the button at the top right that says Empty, click on it, confirm that you want to delete by clicking Empty Trash. the second method is to go to Finder at top of the screen, click on Empty Trash, and confirm the deletion. The third and fastest method is to use a keyboard shortcut which is Shift + Command + Delete at the same time.

You can also delete files one at a time instead of emptying the entire folder. Select the file you want to delete, then either right-click on a mouse, a two-finger tap on a touchpad or hold down Ctrl + Click to get a menu where you can then click on Empty Trash like before or you can click on Delete Immediately instead and it will delete only that file. If you want to delete multiple at a time but not everything in the folder, you select the files you want to delete. Then use the same method as before to use the Delete Immediately option.
