How To Move Steam Games To Another Hard Drive. This video will show you how to move Steam games from one hard drive to another hard drive
Hello everyone, welcome back to another video on the channel. In this video, I'll be showing you how to transfer a game from one drive to another in Steam. Let's get started. First, go to the top left corner of Steam and click on "Steam" then select "Settings." In the settings menu, navigate to the "Downloads" tab and click on "Steam Library Folders." This will open the storage manager. Since we want to transfer a game to another drive, we need to add that drive. Click on the plus icon and select the drive where you want to move the game. I'll be using my C drive for this example. Next, create a new folder on the selected drive called "Steam Library" or use an existing one. Now, locate the game you want to transfer, in my case, it's Rust. Click on the game, then click on the "Move" button. Choose the drive where you want to move the game's content, in this case, it's the C drive. A prompt will appear, asking if you want to move the game. Confirm by selecting "Yes." The transfer process may take some time, especially for larger games, so please be patient. Once the transfer is complete, you'll see a message stating that all contents have been moved successfully. Click "Close." If you go to your new drive, you'll find that the game is now installed there. On the previous drive, the game will no longer be present. I hope this video was helpful in guiding you through the process of moving your game contents from one drive to another. Thank you for watching, and see you in the next video.
If you're looking to free up space or simply want to move your Steam games to a different hard drive, I'll walk you through the process. Moving Steam games to another hard drive is quite straightforward. Here's how you can do it in 2023. First, open Steam and go to "Settings" by clicking on "Steam" in the top left corner. Once in the settings menu, select "Downloads" and then click on "Steam Library Folders." This will bring up the storage manager. To add a new drive, click the "Add Library Folder" button and choose the location where you want to move your games. Next, you'll need to move the games themselves. In your Steam library, right-click on the game you want to move, select "Properties," and navigate to the "Local Files" tab. Click on "Move Install Folder" and choose the new destination you created in the storage manager. Steam will then move the game files to the new location. Keep in mind that larger games may take some time to transfer. Once the transfer is complete, the game will now reside on the new hard drive, and you can enjoy playing it from there. With this knowledge, you can easily move your Steam games to a different hard drive or SSD, allowing for better storage management and improved performance.
