Brigadier M Narendranath Sajan took over as the NCC Group Commander, Kottayam on 10 Sep 21. Having done his schooling at Sainik School, Kazhakootam, Brigadier Sajan joined the prestigious National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, Pune. Following his passing out from the Indian Military Academy in December 1990, he was commissioned into the Gorkha Regiment . The officer is an alumnus of the DSSC Staff College, Wellington and Army War College, Mhow. Following a successful stint in these institutions and obtaining an instructor gradings in all mandatory courses, Brigadier Sajan was posted across the length and breadth of this country to serve its people. These postings include Counter Insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland and Manipur , a tenure at the Indian Military Training Team in Bhutan, tenure as the Commanding Officer Gorkha Rifles in Tri services command in Andaman Nicobar ,tenure as the Interviewing Officer at the Service Selection Board, Bengaluru and tenure as the Commander of a desert Brigade in Rajasthan. Prior to being posted as Group Commander NCC, the officer was commanding the distinguished 58 Gorkha Training Centre at Shillong, Meghalaya.
Brig Sajan is the son of late Mrs J Radhamma and Mr M Narendranath of Njallayil House in Chalaparambu , Vaikom.


It was indeed a prestigious moment for the Guard team of NCC Unit Coy-II Baselius College to have given a Guard of Honour to Brigadier M Narendranath Sajan new Group Commander Kottayam Group NCC @Group HQ KTYM on 10 September 2021.
