Cactus seed soil battle! | Episode 3: 12 Week Update (Fungus!) & New Experiment Tray

Описание к видео Cactus seed soil battle! | Episode 3: 12 Week Update (Fungus!) & New Experiment Tray

It's time for our 12 week check-in on how the Astrophytum and Ariocarpus seedlings are doing in the 6 different soils that we are testing. We'll look at close-ups of the seedlings and then discuss the data. At this point we are past germination and now it's a matter of seeing how many seedlings stay alive as time goes on.

I also started a second tray of soil experiments using the materials that I already have. The first objective is to see how Rob Romero's mix does with cactus soil instead of my native clay soil. The second objective is to give the Miracle-Gro Cactus, Palm & Citrus soil a second chance, this time amended with inorganics. The third objective is to see how the bonsai soil and Japanese pumice do with different types of organic materials mixed in. And the last objective is to see if top dressing makes a difference, although this top soil experiment is not a well controlled experiment but it's better than nothing.
