Crossing & Shot Stopping | D1 Goalkeeper Training | Pro Gk

Описание к видео Crossing & Shot Stopping | D1 Goalkeeper Training | Pro Gk

Since we're all cooped up inside, I wanted to share a session I did a few months back with D1 goalkeeper, Noah Abrams. Because Noah was returning from an injury, the goal of the session was to build up his goalkeeper fitness to get him back up to speed for his spring season!

That being said, I designed a session with a heavy workload to build the muscle memory back in his legs, while forcing him to execute proper decisions when fatigued. After the activation progression, I wanted to put his recovery movements to the test with crosses.

So throughout the session, you'll notice that I began adding more and more decisions to Noah's plate. I structured it in a way that would force him to make sure that he completed his first task before moving to the next one! That was my strategic way of making sure he was breathing properly and creating clarity in his mind prior to making his next decision. Clarity in the mind is something that many of us have built up through a pre-season / seasons workload. That being said, I was definitely happy with what each drill asked of him, as well as the pictures being drawn from it.

As you're watching the session, please understand that this workload is not something that I would recommend you do with your goalkeepers. This was more of a goalkeeper fitness session than a normal one. So if you do attempt to do this, make sure to modify the reps and/or workload accordingly!

Thanks again for watching guys, all the best --- Omar Zeenni
