Mike Oldfield - North Star (2012 Remix)----------- Münster/Hafen

"North Star" from "Platinum", the fifth studio album by English multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Mike Oldfield, released on 23 November 1979 on Virgin Records. It was Oldfield's first album to include shorter songs and music written by others.
"North Star/Platinum Finale" includes an excerpt from the 1977 Philip Glass composition "North Star". The lead melody is not borrowed from Glass but the choir's part is. The constant bass drum beat and octave-jumping bass line start the section and guitar enters with the melody later. A funky guitar riff and chorus appear, and the lead guitar continues to play the melody over them. Engineer Kurt Munkacsi was a frequent collaborator with Glass.

The city harbor I, known as the Münster harbor, is an inland port in the city of Münster in Westphalia. It was opened in 1899 and branches off from the Dortmund-Ems Canal as a port. Initially run as a municipal company, in 1953 it was taken over by Stadtwerke Münster, which then ran the operation.
From the beginning, the port was primarily designed for imports. It was badly damaged in the Second World War, but was reopened in 1946 in order to receive urgently needed building materials for the reconstruction of the city. Today the port has quickly become irrelevant as a goods transshipment point; instead, predominantly cultural and gastronomic businesses have been located on the north bank, forming the so-called “Kreativkai”.

Der Stadthafen I, bekannt als Hafen Münster, ist ein Binnenhafen der Stadt Münster in Westfalen. Er wurde 1899 eröffnet und zweigt als Stichhafen vom Dortmund-Ems-Kanal ab. Zuerst als städtischer Eigenbetrieb geführt, wurde er 1953 in die Verantwortung der Stadtwerke Münster übergeben, die seitdem den Betrieb durchführt.
Der Hafen war von Beginn an hauptsächlich auf Importe ausgelegt. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde er schwer beschädigt, aber bereits 1946 wiedereröffnet, um dringend benötigte Baustoffe für den Wiederaufbau der Stadt erhalten zu können. Heute ist der Hafen als Warenumschlagplatz fast bedeutungslos geworden, stattdessen wurden am Nordufer vorwiegend kulturelle und gastronomische Betriebe angesiedelt, die den so genannten „Kreativkai“ bilden.
