Juwayria Asvat, is an 18 year old self directed learner who is passionate about empowerment of the youth as a result of her schooling and unschooling experiences, who believes in reinventing the education system for the betterment of children and the future.
She shares her views on the damage the school system is doing to children on every level, such as their mental health, sense of self, and how it is shaping their future. Juwayria Asvat is an eighteen year old self-directed learner who developed a passion for the empowerment of the youth as a result of her schooling and unschooling experiences. She has been an active part of the South African unschooling community, participating in
conferences, engaging in discussions, and facilitating conversations with those simply wanting to learn more about self directed learning/unschooling. She is also a self-taught pastry chef and entrepreneur who continues to develop herself and her business. Juwayria loves the outdoors and a multitude of sports, and is also a tennis player and coach.
