Java--it gives, and it takes away (from any online gaming experience).
With its way-too-often updating (often merely because the last version had gaping security issues), it's the bane of any Pogo.com subscribers, many of whom are too old to really 'get into' tech stuff, and so, are left with months of unused Pogo subscription in their membership.
While this really IS maddening (ha! EA Games makes 'Madden'...yet another weak attempt at a pun!), this is avoidable by learning and executing this simple procedure whenever you begin getting those annoying 'security' pop-ups while trying to merely play your favorite Pogo games! These often do NOT go away, until you complete this little process...which is maddening, since, once the pop-up occurs, it prompts you to check a little box telling it not to happen again.
This is all due to a memory caching issue in almost every Java update for the past 5 years now! So, believe me, this is the way to quickly get back to gaming, even if what you call 'gaming' is only 'gaming' if drinking wine coolers makes you a full-blown alcoholic! (In both, you are wishing).

But if it already shows up in your 'Control Panel', by all means, don't re-download it--it's already one big mess!
