NEW HILUX UPGRADES STYLE, PERFORMANCE AND FEATURES
A new addition to the powerful bonnet is a powerful 2.8 liter diesel engine (urban / extra-urban / combined fuel consumption: 9.7-8.4 / 7.6-7.6 / 8.4-7.8 l / 100 km , Combined CO2 emissions: 220-207 g / km) with 150 kW / 204 hp and 500 Nm torque, which accelerates the Hilux from zero to 100 km / h in 10.0 seconds - 2.8 seconds faster than the current and 2.4-liter diesel still available. (Fuel consumption urban / extra-urban / combined: 8.6-7.4 / 6.7-5.9 / 7.4-6.5 l / 100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 195-171 g / km).

The new engine is available in conjunction with a six-speed automatic and is delivered with all-wheel drive as standard. It is available for the two body styles Extra Cab and Double Cab. (Fuel consumption urban / extra-urban / combined: 9.7-8.4 / 7.6-7.6 / 8.4-7.8 l / 100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 220-207 g / km)

Hilux's 1 tonne payload and 3.5 tonne towing capability has now been expanded to all 4-wheel drive body types (Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab).

Inside, the redesigned instrument cluster and the new, 8-inch infotainment display provide the driver with all the important information; mechanical buttons and controls ensure optimal operation under all driving conditions. The multimedia system has also been improved, which now responds even faster to inputs and allows the smartphone to be integrated via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The long equipment list includes, among other things, a keyless entry and start system, a navigation system, automatic climate control, parking sensors at the front and rear, and a JBL Premium Sound System with nine speakers, eight-channel amplifier with 800 watts and CLARi-fi technology.

The off-road capabilities have also been further improved: an electronic function in the 2WD variants offers the effect of a mechanical limited-slip differential, the reduction in idle speed from 850 to 650 rpm and the finer-tuned accelerator pedal increase control off-road. Added to this are the modified VSC electronic stability program and tire angle monitoring.

The vehicle will be on sale in Germany from mid-September. The pre-sale will start in the next few weeks.

Australia's best-selling vehicle.
The updated HiLux, arriving in Australian showrooms from late August, offers beefier output from its biggest-selling 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine due to multiple new components and enhanced cooling.

Maximum power has been increased to 150kW ( 15.3 per cent) while peak torque on automatic models has been ramped up to 500Nm ( 11.1 per cent).

The upgraded HiLux range retains a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel and a 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine along with three transmissions, 4x2 and 4x4 drive, three body styles (single, extra and double cabs), two configurations (pick-up or cab-chassis) and five equipment levels (in ascending order: Workmate, SR, SR5, Rogue and Rugged X).

In 4x4 models with downhill-assist control, an additional traction control feature when using 2WD mode reroutes torque to assist grip in muddy or grassy conditions on worksites.

Towing capacity for automatic 4x4 HiLux variants - including new double-cab-chassis Workmate and SR5 derivatives - has been upgraded to a maximum of 3500kg to match manual versions. On 4x2 variants, all diesel automatics are now rated at 2800kg, an increase of up to 300kg.

The marketing of the New Hilux will start in Eastern Europe in July, in Western Europe in October and in France from July 2020.
