In this DIY project, I use cardboard and paper clay made from soaked waste paper to create a stunning heart-shaped wall hanging. This eco-friendly craft is perfect for home decor, gifts, or special occasions like Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or handmade surprises.

🌱 Materials used:
Cardboard
Serviettes and/or Paper
Basic craft supplies
Flour
Salt
Twine/Rope
Stick

Steps -
1. Cut different-sized hearts from cardboard and stack/glue them together.
2. Tear paper or serviettes into small pieces and add to a blender with water. Blend until very fine, before draining through a kitchen towel and strainer.
3. Mix salt and flour into the mache and knead thoroughly.
4. Cover the hearts with the paper clay, making sure to push in the edges and remove all air pockets. Let dry for several days.
5. Cover with glue mix (4 parts glue and 1 part water) and crumpled paper towels.
6. Add twine/rope to the back, making sure it is sturdy and can hold weight.
7. Paint to preference.
8. Cover with clear water-based sealant.
9. Tie the rope/twine to the stick, adding beads to the rope.
