Teresa Teng performed the song live in January 1984 in Taipei, maintaining the essence of the English song. It was a fantastic performance showcasing Teng's charisma and dance skills. Three months before that, in September 1983, a Mandarin rendition of the song was included in Sarah Chen's album "Song of the Ocean." For reasons not clear, the lyrics were not a direct translation from English. The rapid turnaround from the movie's release to Chen's album and Teng's live performance was stunning, demonstrating how quickly Taiwan's music industry was operating and the immense pressure these singers faced.
