What is an image zoom?

An image zoom is a way for customers to see close-up detail of a product.

When installed on your Shopify store, an image zoom app transforms your static product images into zoomable pictures.

Product image zooms come in a variety of effects: Inner zoom; side zoom; magnifier zoom; full-screen zoom. (Magic Zoom Plus uses all 4!)

When choosing an app, make sure it's a responsive image zoom because you'll want customers to be able to zoom into your product images on mobile phones and tablets too.

What is a 360 degree spin?

A 360 degree spin (also known as a 360 viewer or 360 spin) takes a set of spin images and merges them together on the product page to create a 360 spin effect.

It's a great way to let customers inspect your products from all angles. The value of a 360 spin is the confidence it gives shoppers to buy.

You will need a set of spin images of your product, which you can photograph yourself or ask a 360 photographer.

Use as many images as you want to create the 360 spin effect (eg: 72 for high impact products such as jewellery), but 36 images is recommended. The rotation feels smooth and the images download at an acceptable speed.
