The Death Of Movie Theaters?

We discuss the new dynamic of #movietheaters and #streamingplatforms (disney, netflix, amazon, etc) and whether the death of movie theaters is imminent. The new changes to the #theatricalreleasewindow have made it so that films have gone from 9 months without a home release option down to just 45 days. In 2021, WB's experiment to do day and date releases of their major films hurt the company's bottom line. However, with the entertainment industry new standard of 45 days for home releases (or more straight to dvd releases), does that give people enough options during this era of pandemics? Is there even a point to labeling films as only in theaters anymore?
