Serfaus

Serfaus is known for its small hovertrain subway system, the Dorfbahn Serfaus. With four stations and a length of 1280 m (the second-shortest underground train line in the world) it allows for a complete ban of cars within the town, while at the same time maintaining the village's attractiveness to tourists, particularly skiers.

1985 wurde die Dorfbahn Serfaus eröffnet, eine unterirdische Luftkissenschwebebahn mit Seilantrieb, deren Benutzung kostenlos ist. Auf einer Länge von 1280 m bedient sie mit zwei Kabinen vier Stationen (Parkplatz, Kirche, Raika, Seilbahn) und kann 1500 Passagiere pro Stunde befördern. Sie ist die zweitkürzeste U-Bahn weltweit. Nahe der Dorfbahn-Endstation Seilbahn sind Erdpyramiden zu besichtigen.
