The War of Greek Independence, also known as the Greek Revolution, was a conflict that took place from 1821 to 1832 between the Greek revolutionaries and the Ottoman Empire. Despite facing overwhelming odds, the Greeks managed to receive military aid from several European powers, most notably Great Britain, France, and Russia.

The war lasted for more than a decade and resulted in the establishment of the modern Greek state, which was recognized by the major European powers in 1832. The war had significant cultural and political ramifications, inspiring other nationalist movements across Europe and serving as a symbol of freedom and independence for generations to come.
