Shanmugha Vadivelu's Humorous and Motivational Speech - SIGC Trichy - New Year 2021

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College was founded in 1984 by that great educationist Vidys Seva Ratnam K. Santhanam, as the then secretary of National College Council, with the active support of President Y.Venkateshwara Dikshidhar. It is situated in the heart of the town, right opposite to the Chatram Bus stand, Triuchirappalli.
It is an unaided college and one of the first two colleges in the State founded simultaneously and exclusively for Women. It was so named in remembrance of the greatest women Prime Minister of the world.
The Object of the Founders was to strive for the Economic Empowerment of Women through Economic Independence, achieved by Employment through Job Oriented courses.
This object has been amply fulfilled down the years.
