Singapore’s MRT, or Mass Rapid Transit system, stands out as one of the cleanest and most technologically advanced commuter rail networks in the world. Home to around 6.1 million people, Singapore is one of the most densely populated cities on the planet, and public transport plays a vital role in daily life. Today, Singapore’s MRT carries around 3.4 million passengers each day, placing it among the busiest commuter rail systems worldwide.
Many of Singapore’s top attractions are located just minutes away from an MRT station, often reachable on foot. With most major landmarks sitting within easy walking distance from the network, the MRT has become the most convenient gateway to exploring Singapore.
