Reading Your Snake's Body Language and other things that will make your life (and theirs) easier.

Welcome to Serpentes Sunday for October 30, 2022. This week I review snake body language and provide you with three things to do that will make your relationship with your snake smooth and make the keeping experience better for both of you.
1. Teach your snakes a signal/cue that means they are going to be fed.
2. Teach your snakes a signal/cue that means they are going to be touched/picked up or that you are coming into their enclosures.
This two things will reduce or eliminate miscommunication, ambiguity, and surprise. When your snake knows exactly what is about to happen it reduces stress and increases coping.
3. Learn how to read your snake's body language. This video provides a general guide but learning the body language of your individual snake and what they are communicating to you is crucial for safety and well-being.
