So how does the dog understand what to do when they feel the E collar? What is E collar conditioning?

This is the second phase of Scotty’s E collar conditioning. Previously we found his working level and just started to “stim, feed” over and over to give a meaning to an otherwise meaningless sensation. Now that he associates the stim with turning to me to get food, we start to introduce one of many other meanings of the E collar stim.

The last phase of conditioning will involve using the E collar with every command as well as any other situation where the handler would instinctively apply leash pressure. We will follow up with that video.

I love watching dogs learn this form of communication. Once they do, their responses become so acute and the focus and connection to the handler is simply amazing.
