Following the success of my Sketching with Style video, I do a demonstration of how I developed my style when oil painting en plein air. Will it work for you? Of course, if you're willing to put the time and effort to get there. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen. The setting is Kolob Canyon at the north end of Zion National Park, I've included a link below to my original photo so that you can download it and paint it for yourself!


My oil paints for this painting: Ivory Black, raw umber, cold grey medium (Rembrandt brand), yellow ochre, burnt sienna, green earth hue (Utrecht brand), cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, dioxazine purple, titanium white, lemon yellow, cadmium orange, permanent red medium (Rembrandt brand), alizarine crimson permanent (Gamblin brand). My painting medium is Liquin Original.
