With over a decade of achievements in her field, Dr. Ubesie is an Acute Care Surgeon for Envision Physician Services
Dr. Ubesie specializes in general surgical procedures, trauma surgery, and critical care surgery. She is also a certified Burn Surgeon with the ability to tend to critical care emergency wound care.
Dr. Ubesie’s patient care philosophy includes being compassionate and honest with all of her patients and staff. "Through faith, dedication, and compassion, we can improve the health of this nation and the world...one person at a time,” she said in a statement. Her quality care has earned her five-star ratings by patients who praise her knowledge, compassionate care and overall expertise.
Dr. Ubesie is affiliated with several hospitals including HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest and HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, both in Houston, TX. At HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, she serves as the first African American Woman Chair of Surgery (2020) and as the first ever Surgical ICU Co-Director.
Dr. Ubesie’s medical journey began in 2007, with a Medical Doctorate (M.D.) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio. During medical school, she successfully led Student National Medical Association as the 2006-2007 President. After medical school, Dr. Ubesie consecutively began her general surgery residency at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA. She went on to complete her general surgery residency in 2014 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. During her time at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Dr. Ubesie earned the prestigious title of Administrative Chief Resident. Following graduation, she attended the Virginia Commonwealth University and completed a one-year Burn Surgery fellowship in 2015. After receiving her certification in Burn Surgery, Dr. Ubesie moved to Dallas, TX to practice as a general surgeon until 2017 when she began the pursuit of her passion for trauma surgery. In 2018, Dr. Ubesie completed a one-year fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY starting her career in trauma surgery.

To keep abreast of the latest advances in her field, she holds professional memberships with the American Medical Association, American Burn Association, American College of Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, National Medical Association, and the Society of Black Academic Surgeons.
Treating all patients with compassion and the utmost care is Dr. Ubesie’s prime focus. When she is not treating patients she enjoys volunteering, public speaking, advocacy for diversity, weightlifting/HIIT, yoga, international travel, and spending time with family and friends.
