Outsourcing can be a great strategy to tackle projects, functions and activities in your business. But if you’re outsourcing to a third party, like a bookkeeper, IT professional or designer, you may also be transferring your clients’ or partners’ personal information in the process. And that means you need to comply with privacy laws.

On September 15 we hosted Katherine McNeill, an associate in BLG’s Corporate Commercial Group who specializes in privacy and technology law.

Katherine shared:

-a brief summary of Canadian privacy law principles;
-your legal obligations for maintain privacy when you outsource work to a third-party service provider; and practical recommendations for outsourcing arrangements.
