Margo Jefferson, "Negroland: A Memoir" | One to One

Seeing people and the world she grew up in disappearing, Margo Jefferson, Pulitzer Prize winner, theater and book critic, and author of "Negroland: A Memoir" revisits upper-class black Chicago, where parents organized a "Negro social life" encouraging young people to know their heritage, trying to assure that they would not date across racial lines. Journalist Sheryl McCarthy talks with newsmakers about their sources of inspiration. She has private conversations about public affairs issues with the people who report on them and those who ARE the story. The subjects range from global warming issues to domestic ones.

McCarthy says, "I'm really looking forward to hosting One To One.
